I agree, in a sense. I think his statement is a better version of the well-known "history is written by the victor". It basically just refers to some sources being reliable and others being objective. And he's correct there. History is never free from meddling, because the majority of history was only recorded by a few men, often belonging to the same social class and with the same background.
