Lets say that everybody has a natural connection with the country he or she is from. That is just the way tribal beings work, they feel attached to their land. So loving your country is a normal thing, nobody has to teach you that. You can suppress it, but it is always there.
So patriotism must be something more and it is. Patriotism is more like a cult. Patriots have all these dramatic ideas about the bond between them and the country and say things like ‘I am prepared to die for my country’ or ‘Right or wrong my country’. A patriot takes that natural love for his country to the next level, a patriot worships the country. He wallows in the love for his country.
