If you asked me this question 15-20 years ago, I would have said yes, for sure. However, internet and worldwide access to it has been a game-changer.
These days, you could learn a trade with a $13 Udemy course or a 3-month intensive bootcamp better than you would in a 4-year university program (not all fields of course, some), which means it is easily possible to be successful financially in life without a university degree.
Having said that, there are certain fields like medicine and law, that you wouldn't stand a chance at a successful career without a university degree.
