Fake news is news that uses misleading statements, fabrication, and/or omitted information to stress one side of an issue or event while at the same time ignoring, downplaying, or minimizing the other side of the issue or event. The reason we should care is that it amounts to manipulation of people who don’t have access to full and accurate information or who don’t know how to find that information.
